Spills are going to happen. They usually end up missing the lino floor and end up landing on your living room carpet. Don’t panic, just follow these simple steps to safely remove the content of the spill without leaving a stain.
Extract! Before you apply any solution to the spill, extract as much as you can first. We recommend using a wet/dry vacuum. If you don’t have access to one, use a white dry absorbent rag or towel. Apply pressure to the spill until there is no more liquid being absorbed into the rag. Don’t scrub at the spill, this can set it.
Mix 1 part water to 1 part white vinegar into a spray bottle. Begin to lightly spray the solution to the area. Once again, use the wet/dry vacuum or absorbent towel after applying the vinegar and water solution. You can gently agitate the area with the rag, working from the outside first.
Continue this process until the area is clean. Set up a portable fan to help dry the spot.
If there is still a stain present, use a carpet spot/stain remover from any department store. Rinse this solution out with the vinegar and water solution so there is no residue left in the carpet. The residue will be sure to attract dirt and dust over time.
